Director of Music Update
Hey Summit Crossing family!
As many of you may remember, we announced in January that our Director of Music had resigned and that we would be led in the short-term by Kirk Wright and Steven Sims, two men who have been a part of our Music Team for some time. During this season, Kirk and Steven have both worked hard to provide leadership and continuity for the Music Team, and we are beyond grateful for the time and energy they have dedicated to doing so.
As an Elder Team, we thought it would be helpful to step back during this season and spend some time in prayer, asking the Spirit to lead us in the direction He would have us go in regards to the leadership of our Music Team. Though there were many things to consider as we spent time in prayer and conversation, we believe that God has brought us to a unified and exciting decision.
We are happy to announce that, starting June 2nd, Steven Sims will be moving into a part-time staff position as the Director of Music here at Summit Crossing Limestone.
The flexibility that Steven’s full-time job provides will allow for him to spend some hours in the office each week with our staff elders and teaching team, which we have found to be invaluable as we seek to cast unified vision and set a healthy culture amongst our body. Our other interim leader, Kirk, will continue as a valued member of the team as a volunteer and is excited about supporting Steven in this role. He was the first to encourage us that Steven would be a great fit for this position, should Steven feel called to step into leadership in this capacity.
If you have any questions at all, please email us directly at email@example.com. Continue reading to hear more from Steven directly.
Hello Summit Crossing family,
My name is Steven Sims. My wife Tracy and I have been a part of the Summit Crossing family for over nine years. We have two sons, Ridge (7) and Grayson (2). For most of the time we have been a part of Summit Crossing, I have had the privilege of serving as a member of the Music Team. And over the past several months, God laid it on my heart to pray about possibly stepping into a leadership role if the opportunity presented itself. More recently, through prayer and conversations with the Elder Team, that calling has been made clear and I am honored to begin serving as the Director of Music here at Summit Crossing Limestone starting in June.
Knowing that our supreme worship leader is Jesus, it is my desire to be led by the Holy Spirit to proclaim Biblical truth through music and to magnify the redemptive work of Jesus Christ. My prayer is that together, we will worship King Jesus in spirit and truth (John 4:23-24), and not only in song but also with our lives.
Thank you for the opportunity to serve with you, Summit Crossing family.
